SESRIC Internship Program

The Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) offers internships to highly motivated and successful young people interested to learn more about the economic and social issues that affect communities around the Islamic World. The program provides university students opportunities to study and work that provide hands-on experience, as well as to develop their skills and experience of working in an international environment.

Internships are available during each period of the year. Each year SESRIC provides several modalities of internships.

What kind of internship modalities offers SESRIC Internship Programme?

  • CONTINOUS INTERNSHIPS:It is available throughout the year and you can apply whenever you wish.
  • SUMMER INTERNSHIPS:This modality aims to provide an opportunity to spend summer working as intern in SESRIC and earn a professional experience. This modality covers two different periods of internship:
    • JULY : from 3 July to 31 July 2017
      Application deadline: 15 May 2017
    • AUGUST : 1 August to 31 August 2017
      Application deadline: 15 June 2017
  • INTERNSHIP VACANCIES:Internship vacancies available for candidates with a particular qualification and seeking for a specific professional area or project.

How can apply?

-The SESRIC INTERSHIP PROGRAMME is open to students who are nationals of the OIC Member Countries.. Candidates must possess an undergraduate degree and be already enrolled in a full-time graduate study programme pursuing a Master's or PhD degree.

-The Internship Program seeks candidates in the following fields:

  • Statistics, economics, business, finance, international relations, politics, public administration, human resource development (public health, education, population), social science (anthropology, sociology), agriculture, environment, private sector development, as well as other related fields.
  • IT related fields (network management and web-based software development), graphical design, desktop publishing and library management
  • SESRIC Internship Program also seeks candidates in translation (English to Arabic, English to French, English to Turkish and vice versa).

-Fluency in one of the official OIC languages (Arabic, English or French) is required for above mentioned fields.

What SESRIC expect from its interns?

The interns are, according to their background, expected to fulfill the following scope of work duties:

  • Collate, process and analyses statistical data
  • Conduct analytical research on various socio-economic issues
  • Design and implement training and cooperation projects and programs
  • Prepare and manage agenda of meetings and workshops
  • Assist in the translation of technical documents
  • erform tasks related to the IT and Publication Units as well as the SESRIC library.
  • Building and following-up effective communications
  • Interns are responsible for their own living accommodations.

Internship is available only at SESRIC headquarters in Ankara, Turkey, with a minimum duration of four weeks. Successful interns will be awarded SESRIC Internship Certificate.
