To conduct adaptive/applied client-oriented research on crops, livestock, forestry, fisheries and other natural resources to provide technological solutions to the problems of producers and to inform policy makers on options to increase productivity and production without detriment to the natural resource base and environment. The fulfilment of the institute's mandate will contribute to enhanced household food security, increased producers' income, and higher export earnings and to an improved national economy.
